  How do I disable a Firewall for Windows XP with SP 2?

Prior to the installation of the security suite software, it is recommended that you disable any firewall or anti-virus software that you may have installed on your computer.

To disable the Windows XP Service Pack 2 firewall:

1) Click the Start button.

2)Click on Settings and then Control Panel. *XP Home Editions will only need to click on Control Panel*

3) Click on Windows Firewall.

4) Once the Windows Firewall dialog box is open, click on Off (Not Recommended).

5) Click on the Advanced tab and remove the checkmark beside Local Area Connection. Click OK to apply all of the changes.
